Catholic-Jewish-Muslim Dialogue Group Condemns Terrorist Attacks in India

The Catholic-Jewish-Muslim dialogue group of Southern New Jersey issued the following statement today regarding the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India:

The attacks in India against innocent civilians demonstrate once again the horror and travesty of extremism, whether religious or political. As Christians, Muslims and Jews we recognize the sanctity of life, that all people regardless of their faith should be free from terror or fear, should be safe in their homes, in their religious centers and in their daily pursuits.

In addition to seeking out Americans and Britons, the terrorists specifically targeted Israelis and Jews, so often targets of religious extremists. In unity, the members of the Jewish-Catholic-Muslim Dialogue of So. NJ strongly condemns terrorism against all innocent civilians of whatever ethnic, religious or national identity. Our hopes and prayers go out for the safe recovery for all those missing, for return to health for those wounded, and for the memory of those many people of many backgrounds who died in the brutality of these attacks.

For more information, contact Alan Respler, executive director, Jewish Community Relations Council of Southern New Jersey, arespler@jfedsnj.org or (856) 673-2524.

Radio news directors: A wrapper report containing audio from Mr. Respler (REHSS pluhr) and from Zia Rahman (ZEE yah ROK mahn), managing director of the Muslim-American Society of Southern New Jersey, a co-chair of the Catholic-Jewish-Muslim dialogue, is available for your broadcast use at this link. The wrapper is 1:33 and has a standard outcue. The story is reported by Steve Lubetkin (loo BEHT kihn). For more information contact Steve Lubetkin at steve@lubetkin.net or 856-751-5491.

Public Service Electric & Gas installs a new transformer in Cherry Hill, NJ

At about 9:15pm on August 20, 2008, a power transformer serving about six homes on Crestbrook Avenue in Cherry Hill, NJ, burned out, cutting power to the homes for more than 14 hours. About 12 hours into the power failure, PSE&G crews arrived with a replacement transformer. The failed unit was one of the original transformers installed when the neighborhood first received underground wiring almost 40 years ago. In this documentary report, Steve Lubetkin of Professional Podcasts shows the repair and installation process. The report was recorded on the VuPoint Solutions DA1 camera and a Sony VX1000 MiniDV camera. Post-production in the studios of Professional Podcasts on Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0. Professional Podcasts Managing Partner Steve Lubetkin Quoted in Leading National Jewish Newspaper, The Forward

CHERRY HILL, NJ -- June 20, 2008 -- Steve Lubetkin, managing partner of Professional Podcasts LLC, is quoted in an article about the use of social media technologies like podcasts by Jewish organizations, in the current issue of The Forward, a leading national Jewish newspaper. The story also appears on the Forward website at http://www.forward.com/articles/13594/.

The article, "Technologically Impaired? Jewish Organizations Struggle To Keep Pace With New Technologies, by Monique Cuvelier, quotes Lubetkin commenting that Jewish nonprofit organizations often don't face pressure for technology investments from their boards because they are frequently controlled by larger Jewish nonprofits whose boards are less technically adept.

“Some of the secular nonprofits have boards of trustees and directors with people from large corporations that exert pressure to budget the money necessary for technical development,” said Steven Lubetkin, senior fellow of the Society for New Communications Research and a synagogue tech consultant in New Jersey. He spends most of his time with his podcasting business, ProfessionalPodcasts.com.

“They don’t usually do that in the Jewish not-for-profit world, because so many are owned or controlled by a federation,” he said.

Lubetkin recently returned from Reykjavik, Iceland, where he recorded sessions at the International Association of Online Communicators' international conference that will be produced into podcasts, sponsored by the Philadelphia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Earlier in June, he spoke about effective uses of podcasting technology at the Donor Recruitment and Communications Workshop of America's Blood Centers in Las Vegas. America's Blood Centers is the largest organization of independent blood banks in the country.

Professional Podcasts LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lubetkin Communications, is a leading producer of audio and video podcasts for corporations and professional organizations.

Since 2005, Professional Podcasts has been counseling clients about the effective use of social media, like podcasts and blogs (online journals) as tools that facilitate two-way communications with customers, employees, and others. Lubetkin is a frequent speaker on social media and podcasting. A video of his May 2008 presentation on podcasting at the New Jersey Bank Marketing Association is available for viewing at http://professionalpodcasts.blip.tv/file/931478/.

The firm has produced high-quality podcasts for ACE-INA Insurance, Sun National Bank, the Rutgers University School of Business Administration’s popular Quarterly Business Outlook Seminar, NAPL, a graphic communications trade association, NJBankers, a trade association representing major banks in New Jersey, Leadership NJ, and for the Public Relations Society of America. The firm also produces its own podcasts focusing on public relations, computer technology, bond ratings, and interviews with book authors.
