CHERRY HILL, NJ – June 1, 2009 – Cherry Hill-based Professional Podcasts’ managing partner, Steve Lubetkin, will describe the business value of social media and podcasting during NJBankers’ annual Marketing Conference at Forsgate Country Club in Jamesburg on June 10.
Professional Podcasts has pioneered the use of audio podcasts in the New Jersey banking industry. It produced the first podcast for a commercial bank in New Jersey when Sun National Bank launched its Sun Home Mortgage subsidiary in 2006 (http://media.libsyn.com/media/lubetkin/SUNNB1-SunHomeLoans.mp3) , and produced a program for Amboy Bank about that institution’s innovative reverse mortgage for senior citizens (http://media.libsyn.com/media/lubetkin/ANB1.mp3) . It has also produced audio and video podcasts from events sponsored by the NJ Bank Marketing Association, available at www.njbankmarketing.com.
“NJBankers is delighted to have Steve present at the Annual Marketing Conference and bring valuable information about social media and podcasting to our members,” said Timothy Doherty, vice president and director of communications, NJBankers. “Our members are always interested in learning about better ways to reach their customers to provide information and make their banking experience more enjoyable.”
Some 50 bank marketing professionals from throughout New Jersey are expected to attend the Conference. The social media and podcasting workshop kicks off the conference at 9:15 a.m.
“We strongly believe that audio and video programs distributed as podcasts work hand in hand with social media like blogs, online networks and microblogging tools like Twitter as valuable tools in the corporate communications professional’s arsenal of distribution channels for business information,” said Lubetkin. “Podcasting technology in particular delivers audio and video business programs tailored for specialized audiences around the world. More businesses are beginning to recognize that podcast programs can help meet their ‘anywhere, anytime’ business information distribution needs.”
Podcasts are digital audio or video programs distributed using Internet technology. Visitors to an organization’s website can play podcast programs on their desktop computers, or download and synchronize them with portable digital media devices. Software programs called “feed readers” or “podcatchers” allow users to “subscribe” to podcasts at no cost, and receive new programs in a podcast series automatically. Podcasts are also made available through the Apple iTunes Music Store associated with the popular Apple iPod music player.
