CHERRY HILL, NJ – January 16, 2009 – The Chicago-based CCIM Institute, the leading organization for commercial real estate investment professionals , is expanding its successful two-year podcasting initiative for 2009, nearly doubling the number of Internet-based radio programs it will produce with Cherry Hill-based Professional Podcasts LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lubetkin Communications.
Professional Podcasts has been producing CCIM’s popular “RERC/CCIM Investment Trends Quarterly” Podcast, a joint project of the Institute and Real Estate Research Corporation, since 2007. In 2008, CCIM broadened the successful production relationship to include podcast programs for other CCIM initiatives, such as the Education Foundation of the CCIM Institute and its participation in the annual CCIM & IREM Success Series conference.
In 2009, CCIM Institute and the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) expect to produce a significantly larger number of programs.
“We are very excited to expand delivery of our commercial real estate analysis and expertise to our members and prospective members,” said Edward M. Bury, APR, senior director of public relations for CCIM Institute. “The response to the programs Professional Podcasts has been producing has been tremendous, and this renewed arrangement underscores our belief that podcasting is a very cost-effective way for us to provide important information about our capabilities and expertise.”
CCIM podcasts are available for downloading and listening on computers or digital audio players at no charge at CCIM’s podcast website (http://podcast.ccim.com). Visitors to the website can also get information on how to “subscribe” to RSS Feed distribution of the podcast so that they receive alerts about future podcasts automatically. (There is no charge for “subscribing” to podcasts). Podcasts are also available at no charge to subscribers to the Apple iTunes Music store (www.itunes.com) and can be accessed directly in iTunes (information about iTunes subscriptions to the podcasts is also available on CCIM’s podcast page).
“Podcasts are an excellent vehicle for CCIM Institute and other professional organizations that want to demonstrate their thought leadership in their specialty fields,” said Steven L. Lubetkin, managing partner of Professional Podcasts. “CCIM Institute has always had a clear vision for incorporating this fast-emerging social media capability into its business applications. Podcasting can benefit every organization by providing their clients, members, and other constituencies important information conveniently. Podcasts free those audiences from less-flexible programming formats like conference calls or web streams, where busy and time-constrained participants must gather at a common time. Podcast listeners get the information they need -- at a time when they want it – and unfiltered by any other gatekeepers.”
Podcasts are digital audio or video recordings distributed using Internet technology. Visitors to an organization’s website can download podcast programs for review on their desktop computers, or synchronize them with a portable digital media device. Software programs called “feed readers” or “podcatchers” allow users to “subscribe” to podcasts at no cost, and receive new programs in a podcast series automatically.
